GAME OF THRONES

THE PROJECT

This infographic was a lot fun to make because I love a good story, and both Martin's A Song of Ice and Fire series and its show adaptation make great stories (no matter the amount of hate the last season received.)

The purpose of this infographic is to compare the point-of-view characters chapter count in the books to their show counterpart's screen-time.

BOOK GRAPH

The book series is behind compared to the show, that is why it is shorter than the show’s line graph. However, it is still comparable, for the show’s seasons correlate accurately to the number of books. Because book four and five happen simultaneously, they have been placed together under the same column to line up accurately with the show’s seasons. I have omitted any POV that had less than four total chapters.

Quentyn and Victarion are characters that have been dropped for the show. Asha from the books was renamed Yara in the show to distinct her from another character named Osha.

TV SHOW GRAPH

Throughout the seven seasons of Game of Thrones, many POV characters from the books have cycled through different screen-times per season. After calculating total screen time, the TV show holds Tyrion Lannister highest among screen time, making him the show’s main character. Characters only enter the below line chart once their book characters became POV characters on the time-line.
